Abstract :
Stresscorrosioncracking(SCC)simulationcodehasbeendevelopedfortheevaluationofSCCbehaviorinspecimensintheshapeoffieldcomponents.Thecodeutilizesnumericalcalculationofstress/strainstatesatacracktipusingfiniteelementmethodsandaformuladescribingthecracktipreactionkineticscontainingunknownenvironmentalparameters.TheapplicabilityofthissimulationcodewasinvestigatedbyapplyingthecodetotheevaluationofSCCbehaviorinamock-upofabottommountedinstrumentationtubeforapressurizedwaterreactorsubjectedtocomplexstress/strainstates.TheresultsindicatethatcrackgrowthrateinacomponentsufferingfromcertainenvironmentscanbeestimatedusingthedevelopedSCCsimulationcodewithpre-determinedunknownparameters,usingtheexperimentalcrackgrowthratedatameasuredonotherspecimensinthesameenvironment.
