Abstract :
Numerousstressintensityfactorsolutionshavebeenproposedsofardependingontheobjectsofevaluationincludingthevariationsofstructures,cracks,andappliedloads.Inapplyingtheflawevaluationmethodologytocomponentsofnuclearpowerplants,theuseofreliablestressintensityfactorsolutionsisessential.Inthisstudy,crackedcylinderswerefocusedonasoneofthetypicalconfigurationsinactualplants.Existingstressintensityfactorsolutionsforcrackedcylinderswerereviewed,andtheaccuracyofthesesolutionswasinvestigatedthoroughthecomparisonwitheachother.Specificsolutionswerethenrecommendedforcylindricalstructures.Approximateexpressionswerenewlyderivedforaxiallythrough-wallcrackedcylindersubjectedtolinearstressdistributionandforcircumferentiallythrough-wallcrackedcylindersubjectedtobendingtorealizesimpleevaluationofstressintensityfactor.Consideringthatthecylindricalstructuresareoftenreplacedwithflatplatesintheevaluationofactualcomponents,theproprietyofthereplacementwasalsostudied.
