Abstract :
ThethermalstratificationcanleadanimportantroleintheagingoftheNPPpipingbecauseofthestressescausedbythetemperaturedifferencesandthecyclictemperaturechanges.Thesestressescanlimitthelifetimeofthepiping,orleadtopenetratingcracks.Forthestressanalyses,thedeterminationofthethermalhydraulicparametersofthestratifiedflowisnecessary,whichcanbesimulatedbycomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD)codes.Theresultsofthesimulationshowthetimedevelopmentandthebreakingupofthestratificationandthetemperaturedistributionofthestratifiedflow.ThemaindifficultyoftheseCFDsimulationsistheuncertaintyoftheboundaryconditionsbecauseoftheunknownflowcircumstances.Inthispaper,someresultsofCFXsimulationsarepresentedconcerningthepressurizersurgeline,andtheinjectionpipeoftheHPISforVVER-440typereactors.
