Abstract :
Theprojectofdirectheliumturbinepowerconversioncycleofthe10MWhigh-temperaturegas-cooledreactor(HTR-10GT)programistosetupadirectheliumcyclewithaheliumturbineandgeneratorsystemtoreplacethecurrentheatexchangesystemandsteamcycle.ThisprogramissupportedbyChinesegovernmentandwillbeassumedbytheInstituteofNuclearandNewEnergyTechnology(INET)atTsinghuaUniversityofChina.Insteadofordinarymechanicalbearing,activemagneticbearing(AMB)hasbeenchosentosupporttheheliumturbineandgeneratorrotorsinthisproject.Untilnow,noexperienceonAMBrunninginreactororinheliumenvironmenthasbeenperformed.So,theAMBresearchandexperimentwouldatleastgothroughseveralconvictivestagestofinallymatchtherequirementsoftheHTR-10GTprogram.ThemagneticbearinglaboratoryofINEThasbeguntoworkonthisprojectin2002.Tillnow,acontrolmethodofexceedingtwobendingfrequencyhasbeensuccessfullytestedonasmalltestrig.AhighloadAMBfor3500kggeneratorrotorsuspensionhasbeenconstructedandlong-termrunningtestshavejustbeenfinished.Inaddition,thegeneraldesignofahigh-temperatureAMBtestrighasalreadybeenfinished.AlltheseachievementsonAMBresearchshowthatwearewellonthewaytotheultimategoalofdirectheliumcycle.Todaythefinaljointexperimentofturbineandgeneratorisalreadyunderdetailedplanning.
