Abstract :
Thispaperisdealingwiththemultidimensionalmodellingofgravitydrivenwatervapourfreeconvectioncondensationfrombinaryandternarymixturesofcondensableandnoncondensablegases.Inthecaseofternarymixtures,aspecialattentionispaidtotheinfluenceofthelightgasonthetransportphenomenainthegaseousphase.Twosolutionmethodshavebeenapplied:ananalyticalsolutionemployingtheboundarylayersimilarityapproximationandanumericalsolutionofmulti-fluid,multi-componentformulationoftheconservationequations.Ithasbeendemonstratedthatthetwomethodsareequivalentwhenappliedtobinarymixturesinsimplegeometries.However,tocapturethespatialeffectsandtheternarymixturephenomenathelattermethodmustbeused.
