Abstract :
KAERIhasperformedaseriesofexperimentstoinvestigatetheperformanceofaprototypespargerfortheAPR1400inviewofadynamicloadoscillationwithavariationofthetestconditionssuchasadischargedairmass,asubmergenceofthesparger,thevalveopeningtime,andthepooltemperatureduringanairclearingphase.Theairmassandpooltemperatureareintherangeof0.8–1.5kgand20–90°C,respectively.Thevalveopeningtimecanbeadjustedwithintherangeof0.6–1.8s.Themaximumpositivepressureamplitude,whichisobservedatthebottomofthequenchingtank,isincreasedwiththemaximumheaderpressureofthesparger.Thevalveopeningtimehasaconsiderableeffectonthemaximumamplitude.Astheopeningtimedecreases,themaximumamplitudeatthetankwallisincreased.Airmassandpooltemperature,however,haveaweakeffectonthemaximumamplitude.Oscillationfrequencyisdecreasedwithanincreaseoftheairmassintherangeof2.5–4.5Hz.
