Abstract :
Inthispaper,studiesonupgradeofeddycurrenttesting(ECT)techniquesforinspectionofstresscorrosioncracks(SCC)inkeystructuralcomponentsofanuclearpowerplantarereported.Accessandscanningvehicle(robot),advancedprobesforsteamgenerator(SG)tubeinspection,developmentsandevaluationsofnewECTprobesforweldingjoint,andECT-basedcracksizingtechniquearedescribed,respectively.Basedonthesetechniques,itisdemonstratedthatECTcanplayasasupplementofultrasonictesting(UT)forthequantitativeinspectionofweldingzone.ItisalsoprovedinthisworkthatnewECTsensorsareefficientevenforinspectionofastainlesssteelplateasthickas15mm.
