Abstract :
Limitloadsolutionsforthick-walledcylinderswithfullycircumferentialinner/outercracksundercombinedinternalpressureandaxialtensionarederived,consideringtheelastic–perfectlyplasticmaterialpropertiesandvonMisesyieldcriterion.Thesolutionsareconsistentwiththethin-walledsolutionwhenthewallsofthecylindersbecomethincomparedwiththeirradii.Elastic–perfectlyplasticfiniteelement(FE)analysesareperformedtovalidatethesolution.TheresultsshowthatthesolutionsobtainedinthispaperagreereasonablywellwiththeFEresultsandareconservative.
