Abstract :
Thispaperpresentsthefindingsofanefforttogaininsightsfromfireprobabilisticsafetyassessment(FPSA)conductedinnuclearpowerplants.Usingprobabilisticmodels,thefirePSAtakesintoaccountthepossibilityofafireatspecificplantlocationsanditspropagation,detectionandsuppressionofthefire;andalsohelpstoassesstheeffectofthefireonsafety-relatedcablesandequipment.TheresultsofFPSAcontributedtodesignmodificationsinplanttoenhancethesafetyandtherebyreduceitscontributiontocoredamagefrequency.ItalsohighlightsthesourcesofuncertaintywhileconductingandsuggestingvaluesofriskparameterinFPSAstudy.
