Abstract :
Bynature,theseismicfragilityanalysisresultswillbeconsiderablyaffectedbythestatisticaldataofdesigninformationandsite-dependentgroundmotions.TheengineeringcharacteristicsofsmallmagnitudeearthquakespectrarecordedintheKoreanpeninsuladuringthelastseveralyearsareanalyzedinthispaper.Animprovedmethodofseismicfragilityanalysisisevaluatedbycomparativeanalysestoverifyitsefficiencyforpracticalapplicationtonuclearpowerplantstructures.TheeffectsoftherecordedearthquakeontheseismicfragilitiesofKoreannuclearpowerplantstructuresarealsoevaluatedfromthecomparativestudies.Observingtheobtainedresults,theproposedmethodismoreefficientforthemulti-modesstructures.ThecasestudyresultsshowthatseismicfragilityanalysisbasedontheNewmarkʹsspectrainKoreamightover-estimatetheseismiccapacitiesofKoreanfacilities.
