  • Abstract
    PressuretubesinCANDUreactorarethemostimportantcomponentsthatcontainfuel.Theoperatingexperiencesshowleaksandburstinpressuretubesoverthepasttwodecades.Theintegrityofpressuretubesis,therefore,keyconcerninCANDUreactor.OnceaCANDUreactorputintooperation,theirintegritycouldbecheckedbyin-service-inspection.However,comparingtothetotalnumberofpressuretubesinaCANDUreactor,onlyasmallnumberofpressuretubesareselectedforinspection,sincethereisnoweld.Theinspectionscopeandresultshavebeentreatedsofarusingadeterministicapproach.Takingintoaccountthedifficultyininspectionsamplingandinextrapolatingtheresultstotheentirecore,aprobabilisticapproachisnecessary.Inthisstudy,probabilisticintegrityassessmentsarecarriedoutconsideringkeyfactors,suchasinitialhydrogenconcentration,defectshape,delayedhydridecracking(DHC)velocityandfracturetoughness.TheleakandfailureprobabilitiesarecalculatedasafunctionoftimebyapplyingMonteCarlosimulation.
