Abstract :
Theintegrityofnuclearpipingsystemhastobemaintainedduringoperation.Inordertomaintaintheintegrity,reliableassessmentproceduresincludingfracturemechanicsanalysis,etc.,arerequired.Uptonow,thishasbeenperformedusingconventionaldeterministicapproacheseventhoughtherearemanyuncertaintiestohinderarationalevaluation.Inthisrespect,probabilisticapproachesareconsideredasanappropriatemethodforpipingsystemevaluation.Theobjectivesofthispaperaretoestimatethefailureprobabilitiesofwall-thinnedpipesinnuclearsecondarysystemsandtoproposelimitedoperatingconditionsunderdifferenttypesofloadings.Todothis,aprobabilisticassessmentprogramusingreliabilityindexandsimulationtechniqueswasdevelopedandappliedtoevaluatefailureprobabilitiesofwall-thinnedpipessubjectedtointernalpressure,bendingmomentandcombinedloadingofthem.Thesensitivityanalysisresultsaswellasprototypalintegrityassessmentresultsshowedapromisingapplicabilityoftheprobabilisticassessmentprogram,necessityofpracticalevaluationreflectingcombinedloadingconditionandoperationconsideringlimitedcondition.
