Abstract :
Thispaperdealswith3Dnumericalsimulationofassembliesofahightemperatureheliumcooledreactorcore.ThepresentaimistoinvestigateanemergencysituationduetotheblockingoffewHeliumchannelsinthecore.Inthissituation,someHeliumchannelsforcoolantpassageareblockedandtherelatedissueisthetemperaturedistributionwithintheassemblies,aswellasthelocationsofthelocalextremaingraphiteandfuelmedia,thatmustnotexceed1600°C.Twoconfigurationsareinvestigated,dependingonthesituationoftheblockedfuelassemblyinthecore.Theblockedassemblyissurroundedbysixunblockedfuelassembliesinthefirstsituationandbyfiveunblockedfuelassembliesandonereflectorassemblyinthesecondsituation.
