Abstract :
Actualmodeltestsarecarriedouttoinvestigatetheinfluenceofacrackontheconcretebreakoutstrengthofananchorageandtoexaminetheappropriatenessofthevariouscriteriathatareavailableforananchoragedesigninanewnuclearpowerplantandtheanchoragecapacityevaluationinthecurrentlyoperatingnuclearpowerplantsinthecasewherevarioustypesofcracksalreadyexistintheanchorage.Thesetestsareintendedforthecast-in-placeanchorwhichiswidelyusedforthefasteningofequipmentinKoreannuclearpowerplants.OnehundredandfiveplainconcretetestspecimensaremanufacturedonthebasisofASTME488containing21crackedconditions.Theprincipaltestvariableschosenarerelatedtothecrackpropertiesincluding,thecrackwidth,thecrackdepthandthedistancebetweenthecrackandtheanchor.Inordertoapplyatensileforce,a100tonnes-capacityactuatorisusedwithadisplacementcontrolof0.5mm/min.ItisproventhattheACI349code,CEB-FIPcodeandSQUGGIPareconservativeinacomparisonwiththetestresults.Someimprovedproposalsaresuggestedonthebasisofthetestresultsinordertoaccuratelytakeintoaccounttheinfluenceofthecrackintheanchoragecapacityevaluation.
