Abstract :
Themodelingofcomplextransientsinnuclearpowerplants(NPP)remainsachallengingtopicforbestestimatethree-dimensionalcoupledcodecomputationaltools.Thistechniqueis,nowadays,extensivelyusedsinceitallowsdecreasingconservatisminthecalculationmodelsandperformsmorerealisticsimulationandmorepreciseconsiderationofmultidimensionaleffectsundercomplextransientsinNPPs.Therefore,largeinternationalactivitiesareinprogressaimingtoassessthecapabilitiesofcoupledcodesandthenewfrontiersforthenucleartechnologythatcouldbeopenedbythistechnique.Inthecurrentpaper,acontributiontotheassessmentandvalidationofcoupledcodetechniquethroughtheKozloduyVVER100pumptriptestisperformed.Forthispurpose,thecoupledRELAP5/3.3-PARCS/2.6codeisused.Thecoderesultswereassessedagainstexperimentaldata.DeviationsbetweencodepredictionsandmeasurementsaremainlyduetotheusedmodelsforevaluatingandmodelingoftheDopplerfeedbackeffect.Furtherinvestigationsthroughtheuseoftwo“antagonist”uncertaintyGRSandtheCIAUmethods,wereconsideredinordertoevaluateandquantifytheoriginoftheobserveddiscrepancies.Itwasrevealedononehandthatrelativeerrorquantificationdiscrepanciesexistbetweenthetwoapproaches,andfurtherenhancementsforbothmethodsareneeded.
