Abstract :
TheJapanAtomicEnergyAgencyhasbeenplanningthedemonstrationtestofhydrogenproductionwiththeHighTemperatureEngineeringTestReactor(HTTR).InaHTTRhydrogenproductionsystem(HTTR-H2),itisrequiredtocontrolaprimaryheliumtemperaturewithinanallowablevalueatareactorinlettopreventareactorscram.Acoolingsystemforasecondaryheliumwithasteamgenerator(SG)andaradiatorisinstalledatthedownstreamofachemicalrectorinasecondaryheliumloopinordertomitigatethethermaldisturbancecausedbythehydrogenproductionsystem.PriortoHTTR-H2,thesimulationtestwithamock-uptestfacilityhasbeencarriedouttoestablishthecontrollabilityontheheliumtemperatureusingthecoolingsystemagainstthelossofchemicalreaction.Itwasconfirmedthatthefluctuationsoftheheliumtemperatureatchemicalreactoroutlet,morethan200K,atthelossofchemicalreactioncouldbesuccessfullymitigatedwithinthetargetof±10KatSGoutlet.AdynamicsimulationcodeofthecoolingsystemforHTTR-H2wasverifiedwiththeobtainedtestdata.
