Abstract :
An n-term Galerkin approximation of the iris scattering problem produces approximate reflection and transmission coefficients. A simple proof is presented to show that these coefficients satisfy the same conservation law as the original continuous problem. This result is true, regardless of the chosen basis functions and n.
