Abstract :
Some properties of the factors of both standard Fermat numbers, Fm = 22m + 1, and generalized Fermat numbers, Fm(a, b) = a2m + b2m, are reported. The properties are mainly related to the presence of common prime factors. Several anomalies in the distribution of factors are also analyzed.
