Suppressing chaos in the duffing oscillator by impulsive actions

The method of feedback impulsive suppression of chaos is introduced. Our approach is based on the similarity of return maps of some time continuous systems with one-dimensional cubic maps. The method is illustrated for the Duffing oscillator with positive linear stiffness by making use of its symmetry properties.
