Abstract
A recently described new implication of the equivalence principle between kinematic and gravitational acceleration is revisited: distance-dependent redshift. The cosmos appears like a gigantic cooling machine. While energy cannot be annihilated, a consistent general-relativistic description of where the energy goes has yet to be found. If the new law survives empirical scrutiny, a new consistent macro picture of the world is called for.
