Comments on the hybrid model for propagation loss prediction in tunnels

The hybrid model for propagation-loss prediction in tunnels is discussed and its limitations are given. The values from the waveguide model with (gamma)/sub 2/<2 are applicable for only short distances and for tunnels with low specific attenuation factor ((alpha)). In general, (gamma)/sub 2/ can take any value higher than two.
