The nature of quantum space-time and the Cantorian proposal

We first examine the approximation involved in the conventional differentiable space-time manifold. We then analyse how, going beyond this approximation, we reach the non-commutative space-time of recent approaches. It is shown that this provides the rationale for El Naschieʹs transfinite Cantorian space-time.
