Reconnection of unstable manifolds and change in transport properties

In this work we estimate for a non-twist and non-monotonic map a local diffusion coefficient Dn adequate for analysis of transient transport phenomenon. We compare the minimum of Dn in a space of parameters with the curve of the threshold of the reconnection of unstable manifolds (RUM) in an adequate range of parameters where only one RUM of primary resonance is relevant. We conclude that the RUM is accompanied by a minimum in D3.
