Abstract :
Some new solutions of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation are obtained by applying some of the elements of the symmetry group of this equation to its basic solutions, it is the coherent structures: the soliton solution, the two soliton solution and the resonant soliton. We observe that in these and in many other cases the new solutions can be interpreted as interaction processes in which a certain structure interacts with the radiation and as a consequence of the interaction it transforms (at least asymptotically, in compact subsets of ) in to the solution we have deformed.
