Abstract
The deposition of very small aggregates of magnesium on a diffraction grating, with monomers reaching diameters of 5 nm, is described. These aggregates are mostly 250 nm in diameter and are reproducing approximately the spacing of the diffraction grating. Diffraction patterns from these aggregates deposited also on an unmarked plate have been obtained and are consistent with their average diameters. Extreme values of dispersion may be attained with even smaller aggregates and monomers.
