Soliton and periodic solutions for higher order wave equations of KdV type (I)

The aim of the paper is twofold. First, a new ansätze is introduced for the construction of exact solutions for higher order wave equations of KdV type (I). We show the existence of a class of discontinuous soliton solutions with infinite spikes. Second, the projective Riccati technique is implemented as an alternate approach for obtaining new exact solutions, solitary solutions, and periodic wave solutions.
