Cylindrical higher order disturbances to planar solitary waves

The cylindrical perturbations to a planar nonlinear waves are investigated in this paper. We find that at some certain directions the planar nonlinear waves are unstable under the cylindrical perturbations. However, if the propagation distance of the perturbations is long enough, the nonlinear waves are stable.
