Abstract :
A second-order non-linear non-autonomous electronic circuit, which contains an amplifier, two integrators and a comparator, is studied. For a certain set of values for the circuit’s parameters (amplitude and frequency of the driving signal and R C values), the circuit’s output signal is non-periodic. From the numerically calculated output signal, the correlation dimension and the Kolmogorov entropy are derived. Their values prove that the dynamical system realized by the studied circuit is a deterministic chaotic one. Moreover, the influence of artificial white noise on the original signal was investigated and the results show that only noise levels higher than 1% begin to affect the signal significantly.
