Abstract :
In this study the steel beam specimens with welded connection under loading cycle were investigated acoustic emission (AE) technique. This technique is an important non-destructive evaluation (NDE) method which has used in the field of structural engineering for investigation process of damage. Several-welded steel beam specimens were built and tested under loading cycle and were simultaneously monitored using AE. The AE test data was analyzed according the stages of failure of welded steel beams (elastic, plastic and failure) using Intensity analysis and Hits and Count rate. Researchers considers AE Hit or Count as one of the parameters to study of the behaviour of materials and composite. Also, Intensity analysis (IA) evaluates the level of structure deterioration by means of Severity Index and Historic Index. The results showed that two levels of damage in steel structures could be identified using these analysis methods. The results showed that the cumulative Hits and Count can be used as identification and distinguishing of the behaviour of steel structures. Also the results indicated that two levels of damage in steel structures could be identified using Intensity analysis method.
