Abstract :
Collective states in the very neutron-rich nucleus 98Sr are studied in the SU(3) limit of the interacting boson model. It is found that the spectrum is well reproduced with the SU(3) limit. The available E2 transitions are also in good agreement with the SU(3) limit. In particular the association of the 22+ state witth 2γ is consistent with the present experimental E2 transition data.
