Low-energy expansion of the pion-nucleon Lagrangian

The renormalized pion-nucleon Lagrangian is calculated to O(p3) in heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. By suitably chosen transformations of the nucleon field, the Lagrangian is brought to a standard form.
