Abstract
In this paper the stabilization of 2D quantum gravity by branching interactions is considered. The topological expansion and the first nonperturbative correction of stabilized models are the same as the unbounded matrix models, which define pure gravity. But there are new nonperturbative effects that survive in the continuum limit.
