On the lower bound for the Higgs boson mass

We derive an alternative lower bound on the mass of the Higgs boson of the Standard Model. For one TeV cutoff, the result is numerically the same as obtained in conventional effective potential approach. For high scale cutoff, the lower bound is increased by slightly more than the expected uncertainty in the calculation. We also indicate how two extant effective potential calculations which are in disagreement may be reconciled.
