Abstract
It is shown that the first measurements of charged particle multiplicity distributions for e+e− annihilations at LEP1.5 energies near 133 GeV are well predicted by the modified negative binomial distribution(MNBD) with the parameters N = 7 and Δ = −0.76. A good description with these parameters is obtained also for the data in the c.m. energy range above 50 GeV. A possible connection between the MNBD parametrization and the Levy model is discussed. Predictions for multiplicity distributions at higher energies are given.
