Abstract
We present a fine-structure effect in exotic decays by using the cluster preformation mechanism. The cluster formation is treated as a quantum mechanical fragmentation process and is obtained within the asymmetric two-centre shell model of Maruhn and Greiner. The shell effects in the potential energy surfaces and mass parameters play a key role for the explanation of experimentally observed fine-structure effect. Also, the asymmetric two-centre shell model is well suited for the predictions of yet unmeasured decays.
