Abstract :
Within the framework of selfconsistent two-dimensonal (in the x–z plane) cranked HFB approach the high spin (up to J=40) properties of 182,184Os have been investigated employing a pairing-plus-quadrupole model interaction. In a rather novel way we demonstrate the necessity of high-K band mixing (dynamical effects through wobbling motion) calculations in the first backbend region. We find that beyond the band crossing region (J≈16) the J=〈Ĵz〉=K states become energetically lower compared to the J=〈Ĵx〉 states, the z-axis being the nuclear symmetry axis. But the energy curve as a function of the tilt angle (ψ) suggests that even at the highest J=40 state the mixing of solutions in the ψ degrees of freedom may be important.
