Uncertainties in prompt atmospheric neutrino flux calculations

Possibilities to put upper and lower limits on prompt atmospheric neutrino fluxes up to some hundreds of TeV are discussed. The conclusions are made based on charm production mechanism data being obtained from experiments on accelerators, modem theoretical considerations and on data on cosmic ray muons. Discrepancies which exist among the results set out in different works can be restricted.
