Carrier-Envelope Dynamics and Stabilization of Few-Cycle Laser Sources

The jitter between carrier and envelope of mode-locked laser pulses is investigated. Based on this systematic analysis, an unprecedented rigid phase lock of the carrier-envelope frequency to an external reference with 10 attoseconds residual jitter has been achieved.
