An information management system for forecasting environmental change

Predicting environmental change give policy makers indications for a better allocation of natural, economic and social resources. Intensive use of these resources may lead to unpredictable results due to the highly non-deterministic characteristics of environmental data. An integrated model using Remote Sensing, Geographic Information System and Artificial Neural Network is proposed in order to assess possible causal relationships that lead to environmental modifications.
