Abstract :
Artificial Intelligence is a broad concept encompassing a number of different fields and applications, including pattern-matching, machine learning, natural language processing, and expert systems. Like its human counterpart, an expert system gives advice by drawing upon its own store of knowledge, and by requesting information related to the problem at hand. In this study, a knowledge based expert system, PILOT, was designed to assist user for both selecting the proper inventory model based on the userʹs interest and computing the critical values of the selected inventory model in an interactive mode. The inventory models considered were deterministic single item inventory models with various cases.
