Abstract :
Mandelbrot [1] in his observation of the “The Fractal Geometry of Nature” has laid out a new scientific thought that what we see around us is an intricate arrangement of features. This lead to the discovery of the Fractal Geometry or just Fractals.
In this work, the concept of Fractals to produce precise models of structures from arrangements of features is explained. The method of Iterated Function Systems (IFS) and the College theorem, as given by Michael Barnsley, are analyzed. The mapping functions which allow any image to converge to its attractor is demonstrated. The inverse of IFS is shown to be a potential method for image compression, once the mappings are made available.
