A framework of modularized heuristics for determining the container loading patterns

The container loading problem has important industrial and commercial application. Only a few approaches, however, have been developed to deal with this problem. This paper aims to integrate some of the developments in container loading methods and organize them into a systematic procedure. In particular, this procedure can generate various heuristics that consist of several different modules to determine the container loading patterns. We conclude with a discussion of future research.
