Industry-based tertiary education of industrial automation: Its pros and … pros

This paper describes a major training initiative in industrial automation which took place at Monash University — Gippsland Campus. The paper discusses the academic experience gained in collaborating with industry for the tertiary training in industrial automation. This initiative enabled senior year students to gain both engineering knowledge and application skills through this integrated approach by working in teams on “real-life” projects. Also, the paper presents a summary of the subject outline and the method of delivery that helped in achieving the designed objectives. The industrial and studentsʹ appreciation is also documented in this papers.
