Abstract :
Two novelextensionsforthewellknownantcolonyoptimization(ACO)frameworkareintroducedhere,
which allowthesolutionofmixedintegernonlinearprograms(MINLPs).Furthermore,ahybridimple-
mentation (ACOmi) basedonthisextendedACOframework,speciallydevelopedforcomplexnon-convex
MINLPs, ispresentedtogetherwithnumericalresults.
These extensionsontheACOframeworkhavebeendevelopedtoservetheneedsofpractitionerswho
face highlynon-convexandcomputationallycostlyMINLPs.Theperformanceofthisnewmethodis
evaluated consideringseveralnon-convexMINLPbenchmarkproblemsandonereal-worldapplication.
The resultsobtainedbyourimplementationsubstantiatethesuccessofthisnewapproach.
