Abstract :
This paperdiscussesinventorymodelsoveraninfiniteplanninghorizonwithconstantdemandrateand
two modesoftransportation.Thesetransportationoptionsincludetruckloadsandalessthantruck-
load carrier.Anoptimalalgorithmisderivedforaone-warehouseone-retailersystem.Apower-of-two
heuristic algorithmisalsoproposedforaone-warehousemulti-retailersystem.Computationalresultsare
provided toshowthat,ontheaverage,theheuristicalgorithmisatleast94%effective.
