Abstract :
In thispaperweproposeageneralsolutionmethodfor(non-differentiable)facilitylocationproblems with morethantwovariablesasanextensionoftheBigSquareSmallSquaretechnique(BSSS).We develop ageneralframeworkbasedonlowerboundsanddiscardingtestsforeverylocationproblem.We demonstrate ourapproachonthreeproblems:theFermat–Weberproblemwithpositiveandnegative weights, themediancircleproblem,andthe p-median problem.Foreachoftheseproblemsweshow how tocalculatelowerboundsanddiscardingtests.Computationalexperiencesaregivenwhichshow that theproposedsolutionmethodisfastandexact.
