Abstract :
Consider afirmthatreceivesdeterministic,time-varyingdemandsforitsproduct.Thefirmhasthe
flexibility tochooseitscustomerbaseandreceivemarket-specificrevenuesforitsproduct.Inaddition
to marketrevenueandmarketdemand,theparametersofanegotiatedcontractcanalsoplayarolein
market selectionandfulfillmentdecisions.Twosuchparametersare(1)deliveryobligationpenaltiesand
(2) deliverycharges.Inthispaper,wedetermineoptimalsolutionapproachesforproblemsettingswhen
either ofthesecontractparametersispresent.Ourtailoredsolutiontechniquescansolveeachproblem
in afractionofthetimerequiredbyastate-of-the-artcommercialoptimizationsolver.
