Abstract :
In thispaper,thecoverprintingproblem,whichconsistsinthegroupingofbookcoversonoffsetplatesin
order tominimizethetotalproductioncost,isdiscussed.Astheconsideredproblemishard,wediscuss
and proposeagreedyrandomadaptativesearchprocedure(GRASP)tosolvetheproblem.Thequality
of theproposedprocedureistestedonasetofreferenceinstances,comparingtheobtainedresults
with thosefoundintheliterature.Ourprocedureimprovesthebestknownsolutionsforsomeofthese
instances. Resultsarealsopresentedforlarger,randomlygeneratedproblems.
