Abstract :
In thispaper,wediscussthree-stagemodelsthatcontrolforexogenous,non-discretionaryinputsin
data envelopmentanalysis.Inarecentarticleinthisjournal,MonteCarloanalysiswasemployedto
compareandcontrastalternativeDEAmodelsthatmeasureefficiencyinthepresenceofexogenous
variables.Themethodologyforcomparisonwasflawed,callingintoquestiontheresultspresented.We
introduce newsecond-stagemodelsandcompareandcontrastthemwithsimulateddata.
