Abstract :
In thispaper,anextensivereviewofrecentlypublishedpapersonhybridflowshop(HFS)scheduling
problemsispresented.ThepapersareclassifiedfirstaccordingtotheHFScharacteristicsand
productionlimitationsconsideredintherespectivepapers.Thisrepresentsanewapproachtothe
classificationofpapersintheHFSenvironment.Second,thepapershavebeenclassifiedaccordingto
the solutionapproachproposed.Thesetwoclassificationcategoriesgiveacomprehensiveoverviewon
the stateoftheartoftheproblemandcanguidethereaderwithrespecttofutureresearchwork.
